All Saints' Statement of Values and Ethos
Vision Statement
We will create a thriving learning community that is safe, happy, respectful and aspirational. Rooted in Christian values, we pride ourselves on serving our community, welcoming those from all faiths and those with none. We will develop and inspire our children and families through shared journeys of discovery, taught by highly inspirational staff. We will love and value every child for their own unique talents, encouraging our entire learning community to “Let Your Light Shine” - Matthew 5:16. Through our vision, we will develop children to have the kindness, courage, wisdom and generosity of spirit to succeed in the next stage of their education and to thrive in society.
In shaping our vision, children in our Collective Worship Team shared the following:
“We need to show God’s love and light to everyone in what we do.”
“It’s not about showing off, it’s about being the person God created us to be, using our gifts, like in our school prayer.”
Our Vision is explained by Jesus’ words in the Parable of the Lamp - Matthew 5:15-16 (NIV).
“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Ethos
We are a vibrant, rapidly improving Church of England primary school for children aged 4-11 in Coalville, North West Leicestershire, an area with significant industrial heritage, hence our miners lamp logo. We are also well established as a Forest School and are keen to maintain our Gold Sports mark for Outstanding Physical Education and Sport. Our exciting curriculum, ‘All Saints Journeys of Discovery’ seeks to ensure every child can “Let their light shine” to be the best that they can be.
As a Church of England school, we are proud of our history and tradition within the local community and especially our links to the Parish Church of Christ Church with whom we share a close relationship. Christ Church and the Church community enriches the religious character of our school; we are proud to be part of the Diocese of Leicester.
As well as being distinctively Christian, we are an inclusive school which celebrates equality and diversity. We have a particular care for children who are disadvantaged in any way. We ensure all children, whether of different faiths or none, experience learning through our Christian Values. We want all our children to experience “life in all its fullness” - John 10:10.
Our aim is for every child’s physical and intellectual development to be joined to spiritual, social, moral and cultural growth. Therefore, the journey to academic success is set within the wider context of the values which promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being for everyone in our school community – a holistic approach to education, based on the Church of England’s Vision for Education.
We want our children to “grow in wisdom and stature” - Luke 2:52 developing the skills to understand the world, to flourish in it, to care for it and to begin to consider their role in making it a better place.
