World Book Day

1st March 2018
In Year 1 we had a super day on Thursday celebrating World Book Day when our classroom was transformed into a library complete with librarian and library cards to stamp.  We had a storytelling session first thing where we snuggled down with comfy cushions and blankets to listen to our teachers reading stories we had chosen. Some of us went into the hall to share books with our parents. Before break we all had a cake to eat which had been baked by Noah.

Later, after our World Book Day assembly we did a Where's Wally Book Character hunt where we had to find Wallys then follow clues to find 15 characters from Traditional Tales. Some of the clues were tricky but we worked hard and there were 3 winners who all worked out 12 of the characters. The 3 winning children received a prize and six more children earned 5 dojo points each for trying really hard. What a fun day!
We had a fantastic turn out for our story sharing session for World Book Day.  It was lovely to see the enjoyment and pleasure in reading for everyone. The 10p book sale was also a great success, hopefully children went home with some more books to share at home.
