Great Fire Of London End of Topic

9th February 2018
To bring our Year 1 and Year 2 Topic about 'The Great Fire of London' to a memorable end on Wednesday afternoon the children witnessed a re-enactment of why the Great fire of London spread so quickly and how the overcrowded conditions in the city encouraged this.  We had a visit from Leicestershire Fire service who talked about fire safety with the children for only a few minutes before they had to answer a real life call out, meaning unfortunately the children did not have the chance to explore the fire engine. However they all were excited and enthusiastic about seeing their model houses consumed by the flames. They were warned 'do not try this at home!' Certainly a memorable afternoon for everyone.
