Forest School

7th October 2016
On Friday 7th October, Outdoor Learning sessions began in the school's nature area. Half of the year 4 children began a 2 hour session which will last for 16 weeks. After this the remaining year 4s will commence their sessions. Outdoor learning offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment. During the first session the children played hide and seek, learnt about animal habitats, played the bat and moth game using just sounds, led each other on a blind folded memory walk, hunted for mini creatures and identified leaves.
The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
